Sports Fishing
Experience the thrill of fishing in Nootka, where anglers can reel in Chinook salmon from late August to November, Coho salmon from October to December, steelhead from December to April, and trout from April to June. While we offer some freshwater salmon fishing, most of our salmon fishing takes place in the saltwater of Nootka Sound, where you can also fish for Halibut and Ling Cod.
Beyond the rivers and creeks, our region boasts an abundance of excellent fishing lakes, including Drum, Antler, Star, Gold, Kunlin, Muchalaht, and Upana Lake. These pristine waters are home to plentiful rainbow and cutthroat trout, offering endless opportunities for anglers seeking the ultimate freshwater fishing adventure on Vancouver Island.
